Taylor Maritime continues fleet buildup

Seemingly any handysize that comes on the market these days is immediately linked with Hong Kong’s Taylor Maritime, the three-year old Buttery family-led owner. Broking reports this week have linked Taylor Maritime to  two Japanese owned vessels, Kumano Lily and Star Lily, in an en bloc deal with Doun Kisen for $22.5m. However, Taylor Maritime’s CEO Edward Buttery has denied this latest acquisition when contacted by Splash.

Nevertheless, Buttery continues to build up his fleet with an unreported sale only now coming to light via shipping register, Equasis.

It emerges Taylor Maritime has taken the Atlantic Spirit from Japanese interests, now renamed Super Caroline. No price is attached to the deal, but online pricing portal VesselsValue says the ship is worth $9.75m.
