Thoresen Shipping confirms Songa Bulk supramax acquisition

Thai owner Thoresen Shipping has announced the acquisition of 58,700 dwt supramax bulker Songa Marlin from Songa Bulk.

Thoresen Shipping paid $13.8m for the 2009-built vessel, which it has renamed Thor Courage.

Songa Bulk reported the sale of the vessel last month, booking a profit of $2m from the sale after acquiring the vessel for $11.85m from Japan’s Kamara Kisen in November 2016.

The Thoresen-owned fleet now comprises a total of 22 vessels with an average age of 11.92 years.
