Thoresen Thai sells general cargo ship for scrap

Thai owner Thoresen Thai has announced that it has sold its 15-year-old general cargo vessel  Thor Harmony to ship scrapping company Murali Maritime for $4.42m.

Thoresen Thai said the sale is in line with prevailing dry bulk shipping conditions, in which older vessels become less competitive, and proceeds from the sale will be used to improve fleet efficiency and the company’s fleet renewal program.

After the sale, the company’s fleet stands at 19 vessels with an average age of 11.77 years.
