Timecharter extended on Diana kamsarmax at a reduced rate

Germany’s RWE Supply & Trading has extended its current timecharter of Diana Shipping’s kamsarmax bulk carrier Maia for a further 17 to 20 months, commencing November 11.

The extension period was fixed at a gross charter rate of $7,500 per day, minus 5% commission. This is a 37.5% reduction on the $12,000 gross daily rate RWE has been paying since the vessel began its current charter on September 29, 2014.

NYSE-listed Diana says it expects the extension deal to generate approximately $3.8m of gross revenue for the minimum 17-month period of charter.
