Total extends timecharter of Capital Product Partners MR tanker

Athens: Total’s shipping unit, Chartering & Shipping Services (CSSA), has exercised a 12-month extension option on its existing timecharter of an MR chemical/product tanker owned by Capital Product Partners.

The contract extension for the Alkiviadis (36,721 dwt, built 2006) has been fixed at a slightly higher gross rate of $15,125 per day.

The original 12-month timecharter was booked at a gross daily rate of $14,125 and commenced on September 25, 2014, due to expire on September 26 this year.

The NASDAQ-listed shipowner says as a result of this extension, its charter coverage for 2015 and 2016 is 90% and 70% respectively.

The Korean-built vessel has Ice Class 1A and IMO II/III certifications.
