Transmed linked to Japanese bulker

Transmed Shipping is being tipped by brokers as the buyer of the Kambara Kisen-owned Barock, a nine-year-old post-panamax bulk carrier. Transmed is reportedly paying $10.9m for the Tsuneishi-built vessel.

The acquisition will take the Transmed fleet to 20 ships. It has been known to have been scouring for Japanese tonnage for much of the past six months with brokers reporting it has come close to tying down deals for other ships.
