Transocean Maritime orders kamsarmax pair at Jinling shipyard

Monaco-based Transocean Maritime Agencies has emerged as the buyer of two kamsarmax bulk carriers ordered at China’s Jinling Shipyard Jiangsu.

Transocean would not comment when contacted by Splash, but several sources confirm that the two 82,000 dwt dry bulk carriers are set for delivery in 2018 and 2019 and priced around $24m each.

According to VesselsValue, Transocean’s fleet today is made up by 17 bulk carriers ranging from 58,700 dwt to 82,300 dwt and have an average age of 6 years.

The Monaco-based family controlled shipowning company was founded by Guenther Neunhoeffer in in the early 1960’s and today is headed by Ruth McLoughlin.
