Transocean secures new contracts

Offshore driller Transocean has secured a series of new contracts for the employment of its drilling rigs according to the company’s latest fleet status report.

Semi-submersible rig GSF Development Driller I has been awarded a one-well contract offshore Australia by Quadrant Energy. The contract will start from April 18.

Norwegian energy firm Statoil exercised two one-well options for semi-submersible rig Transocean Spitsbergen in the Norwegian North Sea.

Additionally, semi-submersible rig Transocean Arctic has secured a one-well contract plus a one-well option in the Norwegian North Sea from Faroe Petroleum. The rig will commence the work in September.

Lastly, Husky Energy exercised a six-month option for the company’s semi-submerisible rig Henry Goodrich for works offshore Eastern Canada.
