Transocean semi-submersible nets $68m Davlin contract

Offshore driller Transocean has been awarded a contract by DEA Norge for semi-submersible rig Transocean Arctic to drill four production wells at the Dvalin field in the Norwegian Sea.

Operations are scheduled to commence mid-2019 and are expected to last 340 days. The contract value is $68m and further options are also available.

Hans-Hermann Andreae, managing director of DEA Norge, commented: “Drilling the production wells will be an important step towards production start of the Dvalin field in autumn 2020. DEA is very satisfied with having Transocean on board for the drilling operations.”

The Dvalin field is located in the Norwegian Sea, around 15km north west of Heidrun.
