Tsakos Energy Navigation secures time charters for quartet

Greek tanker owner Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has secured time charter contracts for four of its vessels.

The company says it has fixed an aframax, two panamaxes, and a handysize product tanker, all for a period of 14 months.

Nikolas P. Tsakos, president and CEO of TEN, commented: “The new time charters increase TEN’s fleet under secured revenue employment to 68%. With seven more vessels delivering in 2017, six of which under long term charters, the coverage will well exceed 70%. Responding to our charterers’ appetite, we will be reaching our long term coverage goal well ahead of schedule.”

TEN says the deals will bring its total fleet gross revenues to more than $1.4 billion. It has a fleet of 65 vessels, which includes seven currently under construction.
