Union Maritime’s MR charge continues with fourth acquisition this month

London-based Union Maritime is on an acquisitive charge. Brokers report it has taken another MR tanker, the Korean-built Pretty World from Parakou. The ten-year-old ship is costing $16.25m. The vessel has a special survey and drydocking scheduled for this November.

Last week Union Maritime took the eight-year-old Kirstin MR tanker for a price just shy of $19m.

At the start of the month Splash reported the same owner had moved to bag two 10-year-old MRs from a subsidiary belonging to Belgium’s Vroon.

Laurent Cadji, a former Morgan Stanley trader, founded Union Maritime in 2006 with the aim of building a leading oil product logistics platform in West Africa.
