Update: Tanoto Shipyard Fire

 

Singapore: The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has said that the Tanoto Shipyard fire was extinguished at 4.30am this morning. 
 
There were a total of 4 casualties and according to SCDF one male casualty was conveyed from the incident site to Singapore General Hospital. The other three casualties who were in a passing vessel were ferried away by a Police Coast Guard and then taken by SCDF ambulances to National University Hospital.
 
The fate of three missing workers is still unknown, and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) are now coordinating a search and rescue (SAR) operation. 
 
Meanwhile the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is looking into the cause of the investigation and according to their investigations "Preliminary findings show that a fire had started on a tug boat and spread to three adjacent tug boats.” [27/03/13]
