Portland, Oregon-based shipbuilder and service provider Vigor Industrial is closing down its shipyard in Everett, Washington, according to local website heraldnet.
The repair and refit yard has been operating at minimal capacity with a small staff as business has gravitated to bigger yards in Seattle and Tacoma.
Vigor has offered the Port of Everett almost $1m to end its lease early. It would also transfer ownership of buildings and cranes on the 3.6-acre site.
Other shipyards have expressed interest in moving in to the Everett facility.
Vigor still has several active yards in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
