Wan Hai makes more transpac alterations

Taipei: Wan Hai Lines (WHL) has announced that it will restructure its Asia-Mexico-West Coast South America service, effective next week. It will drop its stand alone service (WSA – 69888), launched in July with ships of 1,500-2,800 teu, and will join three existing weekly services within two distinct arrangements with COSCO on the one side and with Hamburg Süd, CCNI, Hanjin, HMM and CSCL on the other side.

These new changes allow WHL to enhance its port coverage to include Xiamen in China, Busan in Korea as well as Iquique and San Antonio in Chile. Moreover, WHL, which was deploying the smallest ships on this trade, will now be able to enjoy vessels in the 4,000 to 6,5000 teu range.  [31/08/12]
