Will 2018 bring better freight rates?

Will the markets be kinder to shipowners in 2018 than this year? That forms the central thesis of the latest MarPoll, our quarterly online survey, launched today. We look at the various different sectors, asking readers whether freight rates next year will be better than in 2017, a year that records will show – with the noticeable exception of tankers – has been one of recovery to date.

Other topics raised in the survey – among others – look at the role of Chinese leasors, whether Cosco will overhaul Maersk soon in box shipping, and what private equity has planned for shipping in the coming year.

There is no registration to vote and you can fill out the questions posed in less than two minutes, although we do appreciate readers leaving comments too.

Results will be carried in the next issue of Maritime CEO magazine.
