Norwegian short sea operator Wilson has acquired two dry bulk vessels from German owner Lauterjung.
Wilson has paid €3.5m ($3.92m) for the 2,460 dwt pair, the 1999-built MV Arion and 2000-built MV Hestia.
Wilson has been operating the two vessels on time charter, and so not adding to its operating fleet of 119 vessels. The company said by acquiring the two vessels it is showing a “long-term belief in the market within this tonnage segment.”
The pair are scheduled for delivery during the next quarter and will subsequently be renamed.
