Wood Group gets $150m North Sea contract extension from Nexen

Wood Group PSN will continue to provide operations, maintenance and technical support for Nexen in the North Sea for a further five years after winning a contract extension worth $150m.

The London-based company has provided support services to Nexen’s Buzzard, Scott and Golden Eagle offshore platforms in the North Sea since 2010. The extension will retain over 190 jobs, Wood Group said today.

“Working in partnership with Nexen we have proactively added value, maximised productivity and enhanced efficiency and safety across these assets. The long-term renewal of this contract demonstrates the success of our relationship and we look forward to leveraging our expertise and strong knowledge of the platforms, towards continued excellence in the service we provide to this key client,” said James Crawford, Wood Group PSN’s managing director in the UK and Africa.

In April, Wood Group won a two-year contract extension in the North Sea from TAQA, and in February Chevron Upstream Europe extended Wood Group PSN’s contract for support services across four offshore assets in the region.
