Workers shut Yemen’s oldest port

Doha: Outraged workers at Yemen’s oldest port, Mokha, downed tools yesterday in protest at a sudden, unannounced inspection of facilities by the army. The Red Sea port, famous in centuries past for its coffee trading, has in recent years become a centre point for smuggling, including large caches of weapons.  [29/07/13]
