Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry secures first wind turbine installation vessel order

Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) has signed shipbuilding contracts with local investment firm Xiamen Fuchuan Investment for the construction of a wind turbine installation vessel.

The order, which includes an option for an additional vessel, is the first wind turbine installation vessel order received by XSI.

The vessel will be classified by China Classification Society, while other contract details were not revealed.

XSI is a specialist in the construction of car carriers, and has also been developing offshore vessels including platform supply vessels and accommodation vessels.
