Qingdao People’s Procuratorate has announced that Zhang Ruofu and Zhang Heng, director and vice director of Register of Shipping of the People’s Republic of China (ZC)’s Qingdao branch, have been detained by authorities for investigations.
The two officials are currently under investigations for illegal activities including power abuse and corruption.
ZC is the domestic ship survey authority led by Maritime Safety Administration. It mainly surveys smaller domestic coastal vessels and inland river vessels.
