Shanghai: Shanghai-based Zhenhua Heavy Industries announced on 29 October, the company has signed a contract with COSCO Pacific in Beijing for the technology cooperation of Xiamen Yuanhai automatic terminal (the first phase), which is said to be the world’s first fourth-generation unmanned automatic container terminal.
Based on the calculation of Zhenhua, the container loading and unloading system operational efficiency will improve at least 20% than the average rate of world container terminals, and will save around 26% in costs compared to a traditional terminal.[12/10/30]
