Zhonggu Shipping adds two boxships, eyes more

Shanghai: Shanghai Zhonggu Shipping has announced that it has acquired two containerships, one each from Singapore and Germany, both expected to start operation in May.

Zhonggu Shipping ordered ten 2,500teu containerships at Zhoushan Wuzhou Shipbuilding & Repairing in 2013, with two of the vessels having been delivered so far.

Zhonggu Shipping said it plans to acquire another four vessels this year, all of which will start operations between June and August.

Zhonggu Shipping is one of the largest container shipping companies in the domestic coastal market, currently operating a fleet of more than 70 container vessels.
