Zhoushan Changhong acquires JES bulker

Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard has acquired an unfinished bulk carrier Agenor via an online auction arranged by Wuhan Maritime Court.

The 82,000 dwt bulker has fetched a price of RMB86.94m ($13.74m).

The vessel is one of the two 82,000 dwt bulkers from bankrupt Jiangsu Eastern Shipbuilding. The other vessel Archon was also sold in the auction to Taizhou Qiaoyuan Import & Export Company for RMB83.31m.

According to auction files, the construction of the two ships is basically finished but relevant certifications haven’t been completed yet.

The proceeds from the sale will be used to repay debts to creditors.
