2020 Bulkers hurries newcastlemax delivery schedule

Amid a booming market, Oslo-listed 2020 Bulkers has managed to get a Chinese yard to deliver five of its eight scrubber-fitted newcastlemaxes on order eight months earlier than scheduled.

The CEO of 2020 Bulkers Management, Magnus Halvorsen, commented: “We are very pleased with the good progress of our newbuilding program at New Times Shipyard, particularly in the light of the recent improvements in the dry bulk market.”

Following the revised delivery schedule, 2020 Bulkers, set up by Tor Olav Trøim, is now expected to have in excess of 2,600 operational ship-days in 2020.

The first ship is now expected to deliver on August 7 and all ships are expected to be delivered by May 2020.
