Containerships CEO resigns

Finnish boxship operator Containerships, part of CMA CGM Group, has announced that the company’s chief executive officer Kari-Pekka Laaksonen has decided to resign.

CMA CGM will propose to the board to appoint Claude Lebel, current CEO of MacAndrews, the parent company of Containerships, as the new CEO of the company in a board meeting on Friday.

Laaksonen will remain in his position until his replacement is effective.

CMA CGM completed the acquisition of Containerships at the end of October last year, adding 19 vessels to its fleet.
