Japan Drilling Company scores five-well drilling contract off Vietnam

Japan Drilling Company has been awarded a drilling services contract for jackup rig Hakuryu-11 on a subcontract with PetroVietnam.

The contract, is scheduled to commence in October 2019, is for five firm wells with an additional one-well option. Estimated duration of the five wells is around 300 days.

The rig will be operating offshore Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Japan Drilling Company operates six jackups, one semi-submersible and a drillship.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
