Boskalis awarded Indonesian dredging contracts

Royal Boskalis Westminster has been awarded two contracts in Indonesia for dredging work on the islands of Sulawesi and Java.

On tSulawesi, Boskalis has been awarded a contract by construction company PT PP to assist with the expansion of the Makassar New Port container terminal. Boskalis will deploy a mega trailing suction hopper for around six months, and the dredging scope includes the removal of soft clay followed by land reclamation work which requires the dredging and supply of sand.

On Java, Boskalis will prepare 95 hectares of land for construction purposes for a new petrochemical complex for Lotte Chemical. Boskalis will deploy a jumbo trailing suction hopper dredger and prepare the project by supplying sand and improving the soil by means of vertical drainage.

Both projects are scheduled foe the second half of 2019 and have a total value of €75m ($84.35m).
