Sun Enterprises orders up to three MR tankers at Hyundai Mipo

Greek owner Stavros Livanos’ Sun Enterprises is said to have placed order for three 50,000 dwt MR tankers at South Korean yard Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

According to shipbroking sources, the newbuilding contract includes a firm order for two vessels and an option for another vessel. The price of the new ships is around $37.3m each. Delivery is scheduled to start in 2020.

Sun Enterprises currently operates a fleet of 16 tankers made up of one VLCC, three suezmaxes, six post panamaxes, two panamaxes and four handysizes. The company has another eight vessels on order.
