Singapore suspends bunker supplier found to be using magnets to distort deliveries

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has suspended the bunker craft operating licence of local firm Southernpec after magnets were found on one of its barges during a regular enforcement check.

The magnets were used to manipulate the vessel’s mandatory mass flow meter and are the latest incident of this malign practice in the world’s largest bunkering hub.
