Doun Kisen orders ultramax pair

Japanese shipping giant Doun Kisen has tapped Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding to build a pair of ultramaxes, according to multiple broking reports.

The 66,000 dwt ships will deliver late next year and at the start of 2021. No price has been revealed.

Doun Kisen’s current 103-strong fleet is made up of 72 bulkers, 15 boxships, 11 tankers, two LPG carriers and three reefer vessels. It has contracted for a total of 10 newbuilds.
