Marfret takes on its largest ship
French niche carrier Marfret has taken on its biggest ship in its history, chartering the 6,881 teu Skiathos for a year at a rate of $25,2560 a day according to Alphaliner. Previously the largest ship in the Marseille-headquartered fleet was a 3,019 teu vessel.
The Skiathos, owned by Monaco-based International Maritime Enterprises, is expected to be deployed by Marfret together with partners on a service connecting the Mediterranean with the Caribbean and the Americas.
