Blue Planet Shipping moves to offload ageing supramax fleet

Victoria Steamship-affiliated Greek owner Blue Planet Shipping is looking to exit the supramax sector, with brokers circulating its fleet of four supramaxes.

2003-built Arion, Evnia, Nicolaos A and 2004-built Avra, all built at China’s New Century, are being circulated by brokers. The four vessels are worth around $22.5m according to VesselsValue.

Blue Planet Shipping was founded in 1996 and VesselsValue shows it has a fleet of 14 bulkers in total made up of one post-panamax, six panamaxes, three ultramaxes and the four supramaxes put up for sale. The supramaxes are by far the oldest in what is otherwise a modern fleet.
