OneBulk is the newest name in Hamburg shipping
Three Hamburg-headquartered shipping companies Bertling, Nordic Hamburg and Oskar Wehr have provided further details of their dry bulk joint venture following on from Friday’s Splash exclusive.
The new commercial management company called OneBulk will start operating on July 1 with registered offices in Hamburg and Singapore.
Each of the three owner-operated companies will incorporate their modern dry bulk fleets into this newly established joint venture, which will then comprise about 50 bulk carriers from handysize up to kamsarmax.
“OneBulk will give the three partners a bigger commercial presence in the shipping market, a greater set of resources and skills as well as access to a larger fleet of vessels to respond much faster and cost efficient to client demands,” the three companies stated in a release.
The new entity has said it is open to getting more partners onboard.
Commenting on the news regular Splash contributor Panos Patsadas said from Hamburg today: “The combined DNA of an integrated logistics provider, a traditional German owner, and a new generation one-stop-shop shipmanagement company is in my opinion a recipe for success. Sometimes the mix of players in a synergy is far more important than the scale, and I think Bertling, Wehr, Nordic have the right elements to grow and enjoy success.”
