Jens Grønning to lead Navig8 Chemical Tankers as management team replaced

Navig8 Chemical Tankers has announced the appointment of Jens Grønning as CEO and Torben Bager as CFO, replacing CEO Nicolas Busch, CFO Paul Stevens and COO David Wiswell who have all stepped down from their respective roles.

In a short statement issued today, the board of directors at Navig8 Chemical Tankers said: “We are pleased to welcome Jens Gronning as the new CEO of Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc. Jens brings an extensive background in the shipping industry and deep experience with chemical and product tankers. Together with our new CFO Torben Bager, who has significant knowledge of the maritime finance space from years of working with leading product tanker companies, Jens will lead a new management team that will propel our business forward. We thank Nicolas, Paul and David for their many contributions to the Company’s development and look forward to continuing to work together with them in their roles at Navig8, a significant shareholder in the Company.”

Grønning has been on the Navig8 Chemical Tankers board since January and is a co-owner of Danish shipping firm Otto Danielsen. He’s held the CEO role at several companies in the past including United Arab Chemical Carriers from 2008 to 2013 and Eitzen Chemical from 2013 to 2015.

Navig8 Chemical Tankers is a joint venture between Navig8 Group and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
