Angelicoussis adds LNG carrier at DSME and eyes further orders

Maran Gas Maritime, an affiliate of Greek owner Angelicoussis Shipping Group, has placed an order for one additional 174,000 cu m LNG carrier at South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

The latest is the fifth LNG carrier Maran Gas has ordered at DSME this year. DSME said the two sides are also in negotiations for more LNG carrier orders

Delivery of the latest vessel is scheduled in the first half of 2022.

Maran Gas currently operates a fleet of 14 LNG carriers, with another 14 newbuildings on order at DSME.

John Angelicoussis has ordered more than 100 ships at DSME since the 1990s.
