Sverre Farstad returns with Ulstein PSV deal

Sverre Farstad has made a return to the offshore market with new shipowning company Sverre Farstad & Co, sealing a deal with Ulstein to take over the platform supply vessel Blue King.

The 2016-built vessel has been operating with Golden Energy Offshore, and it now joins the fleet of Sverre Farstad & Co in an agreement which Splash understands will see the company take ownership at a later date.

Gunvor Ulstein, CEO of Ulstein Group, commented: “We are very pleased that this agreement has been settled and is looking forward to seeing the ship entering into operation. The new ship owner is an exciting addition to the Norwegian maritime cluster and we wish them all the best.”

Sverre Farstad resigned as board member at Solstad Farstad in January 2018 due to dissatisfaction with the results of the merger between Farstad, Solstad and Deep Sea Supply. At his request, Solstad Farstad went on to change its name in October 2018 to Solstad Offshore.
