Kristian Gerhard Jebsen appoints new CEO

Hans Peter Jebsen-led shipping group Kristian Gerhard Jebsen has appointed Geir Bruvik Mjelde as the new CEO of Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skisrederi, replacing Jan Pedersen, who had been in the position for nearly 40 years.

Mjelde, 51, is a shipping veteran in Norway, and had been the CEO of SKS Tankers for the past eight years and also served as CEO of Utkilen as well as chairman of the Bergen Shipowners Association.

Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skisrederi currently controls SKS Tankers and KGJ Cement Holding. It also has a 50/50 joint venture Bulk Trading Group with JP Morgan Global Maritime Investment Fund.
