Former CSIC general manager Sun Bo gets 12-year jail sentence

Shanghai Intermediate People’s Court has sentenced Sun Bo, former general manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), to prison for 12 years.

Sun was charged for a series of illegal activities relating to taking bribes and abuse of power. He has accepted the sentence and will not appeal.

Sun was officially arrested in January following months of investigations by authorities and he was expelled from the Communist Party in December.

Sun spent most of his career with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC) and was promoted to general manager of CSIC in 2015.
