Archer awarded New Zealand drilling contract

Oslo-listed oilfield service provider Archer has been awarded a contract with OMV Taranaki for drilling services using the modular drilling rig Archer Emerald.

The contract is for five wells with two additional one-well options on OMV’s Maui A platform in the Tasman Sea off New Zealand. The firm contract has an estimated duration of 11 months, with a further five months for the optional wells.

Archer’s modular drilling rig will be mobilised from Norway to New Zealand, and drilling is expected to commence in March 2020.

He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List.
