S’hail adds panamax pair into Klaveness pool

S’hail Shipping has placed panamax pair S’hail al Rayan and S’hail al Dukhan into the Baumarine pool, a specialised panamax, kamsarmax and post-panamax pool run by Norway’s Torvald Klaveness.

S’hail Shipping already had three vessels in the pool and said that it has been mutually beneficial for both S’hail and Klaveness, so were keen to explore the possibility for further expansion.

Hans Næss Olstad, head of pool management at Klaveness, commented: “With this fourth and fifth vessels in the Baumarine Pool, S’hail has become a successful example of cooperation and optimization of resources to streamline their spot trade without having the positional and counterpart risk.”

S’hail Shipping is Qatar’s largest dry bulk owner with a fleet of seven bulkers. It took delivery of both the S’hail al Rayan, acquired from Chandris, and S’hail al Dukhan, acquired from Santoku Senpaku, last month.
