Borealis Finance acquires panamax boxship from Thomas Schulte

Christoph Toepfer-led Borealis Finance has announced the acquisition of 2012-built 4,249 teu containership Balthasar Schulte.

The Chinese-built vessel was acquired from German owner Thomas Schulte for a price of $10.9m. MSI values the vessel at $10.2m.

The vessel is Borealis Finance’s first purchase this year, having sold three panamax boxships since May.

Borealis Finance currently owns a fleet of 23 vessels, comprised of three bulkers and 20 boxships.
