Former Cosco vice president gets 10-year sentence

Beijing: Xu Minjie, former vice president of China’s shipping conglomerate, Cosco Group, has been sentenced to prison for 10 years by a court.

Xu was arrested for corruption activities in November 2013.

Cosco Group has been involved in a series of corruption scandals in recent years. Former general manager of Cosco Dalian, Meng Qinglin, was arrested for corruption last year and former vice general manager of Cosco Qingdao, Song Jun recently received a suspended death sentence for corruption.
