Bahri in for 5 plus 5 VLCCs

Dubai: Saudi Arabian tanker giant Bahri announced over the weekend that it has concluded a deal with South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries to build five VLCCs. The contract comes with options for five more VLCCs. All the ships will be delivered in 2017.

Bahri said the 300,000 dwt vessels were part of a “continuous renewal of the current fleet to meet the needs of the local and global markets”.
The Middle Eastern firm said it will announce the financing details for this sizeable ship order later.
