New Seaspan containership gets 10-year timecharter to Yang Ming

Athens: Seaspan has taken delivery of a new 14,000-teu containership, which has been fixed on a 10-year timecharter to Taiwan-based Yang Ming. No rate was disclosed for the fixture.

The YM Winner will commence its new timecharter on June 30. The contract includes an option to extend the charter period by an additional two years.

The boxship was built at South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries and is the third of eight 14,000-teu vessels to be delivered to Seaspan from the yard this year.

Following the delivery, Hong Kong-headquartered Seaspan’s fleet now stands at 81 vessels.
