Dorian LPG wins new charters and adds newbuild to Helios Pool

New York: US-headquartered VLGC owner Dorian LPG has announce that it has entered into a three-year time charter for the Corsair (84,000 cbm, built 2014) and a one-year time charter for the Cobra (84,000 cbm, built 2015).

The charters, which are with two separate oil majors, are expected to deliver at the end of June.

The company has also taken delivery of newbuild Cougar (84,000 cbm, built 2015), the fourth in a series of nineteen VLGCs on order from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. The vessel will now trade in the spot market through the Helios Pool, which was set up in March with Phoenix Tankers, part of Mitsui OSK Lines.

The Helios LPG Pool now operates eight VLGCs, five from Dorian and three from Pheonix.

Dorian LPG has a further fifteen 84,000 cbm VLGCs set to deliver through this year and in 2016.
