CT Offshore wins wind farm installation contract

Danish windpower specialist CT Offshore has announced that it has signed an agreement to install 87 inter-array cables on Dong Energy’s Walney Extension offshore wind farm.

The cable-laying vessel SIA will be deployed for the work which will begin in spring of 2017. Load out port is yet to be decided.

“It is a very important contract to sign for CT Offshore,” commented Jens Frederik Hansen, chairman at CT Offshore.

The farm will have a maximum capacity of 660mw and is located about 19 kilometers off the English West Coast, next to the 367.2mw Walney offshore wind farm. Earlier this month Norway’s DeepOcean was awarded a contract by Dong for installation and trenching works at the project.
