A M Nomikos in for another SK supra

Greek owner A M Nomikos has dipped into the secondhand market to add to its 40-strong fleet. Sources tell Splash the Athens company has forked out $12.5m for SK Shipping’s 55,000 dwt K Opal supramax in an off-market deal.

The deal follows A M Nomikos’s purchase of sister vessel, K Garnet, for similar levels last month, a ship that has now been renamed Key Ohana.

Korean heavyweight SK Shipping has recently spent just under $100m for a VLCC, just launched from Norway’s Hunter Group.
