Aban Offshore secures drillship contract from ONGC

Indian offshore driller Aban Offshore has received a letter of award from ONGC for the charter of the Aban Ice drillship for a firm period of 3 years.

The contract is expected to commence during the second quarter of 2017, with the total contract value valued at around $72.4m.

ONGC had preciously chartered the ship from 2013 to 2016, and currently it also has the Aban Abraham drillship under a two-year charter which commenced late last year.
