ABB targets Chinese yards

Dalian:  ABB, a global leader in power and automation technologies, is working on promoting the MNS iS Motor Control Center System to China’s shipbuilding industry.

MNS iS Motor Control Center System delivers all the functions for control, protection and monitoring of the motors and motor starters using software and hardware modules.

The system has been well received by chemical, energy and some other industries in China, and can lso be well used in FLNG and floating platform projects overseas, however, the Chinese shipbuilding sector is still a new market for this product.

“It is a smart design and advanced product, which could bring green and efficiency to the users, although the price of the product is higher, it can save a lot of time and resources to improve the efficiency of your operation," said an official from ABB at Shiptec China 2014. "None of the Chinese shipyards have used this system, which means we have a great market to explore, and that is what we are doing.”

ABB’s innovative MNS iS concept combines the long term experience, energy efficiency, grid reliability and industrial productivity of the well-known MNS System with advance design in hardware and software technologies.  [22/10/14]
