Dutch offshore vessel owner Acta Marine has ordered a second construction support vessel at Ulstein Verft.
Acta has a CSV, the Acta Auriga, currently under construction at the yard and about to go to sea trials. Once delivered, it will go on a two-year charter with BARD Offshore.
Rob Boer, managing director at Acta Marine, commented: “Returning to Ulstein Verft with an order for a new sister vessel is a strong signal of the importance of the yard’s track record in quality and delivery precision, which is very important to us as ship owner and to our clients.
“We are quite convinced that the Acta SX195 vessels will create higher efficiency in offshore logistics operations and thus reduce the overall cost of constructing windfarms and, also, contribute towards a higher uptime of the installed base of offshore wind.”
